Ongle Privacy Policy
Effective date: 24 August 20261. General
This policy applies to the Ongle hwp and hwpx viewer app ("the app") from H1Soft ("the team"). The team complies with applicable law, including the Korean Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
2. On-device by design
Viewing, full-document search, table export and PDF or image conversion all run on your device. Document files, their contents, file names and metadata are never sent to a server, and the team cannot access them.
Core features work with the network fully blocked.
3. What we collect
The app collects no information that identifies you — no name, contact details or account. There is no sign-up and no login.
4. Stored on your device
The following is stored only in app-private storage.
- Recent documents — the path of files you opened and your last reading position
- Conversion output — PDFs, images and table files you chose to save
- App settings — display mode, reading mode, language
5. Permissions
Permissions are used only for the purposes below.
- Files and storage — only to open a document you pick and save conversion output where you choose. Files you have not selected are never accessed
6. Optional diagnostics (opt-in)
To improve stability, the following is collected only if you explicitly opt in. Consent is requested on a dedicated screen at first launch and can be withdrawn instantly in settings.
- Crash stack traces
- On a render failure, structural statistics about the document — record tag distribution, document version, page count
- Document text and images are never collected.
7. File reports (opt-in)
If you use the feature that reports an unopenable document to the team, the file itself is sent to the team. This is stated plainly on the report screen and requires your explicit checkbox consent.
Reported files are used only to diagnose the cause, are deleted as soon as analysis is done, and are never shared with third parties. Reporting is entirely optional.
8. Cloud AI features
Where cloud-based AI features exist, they are off by default and require per-feature consent. You see a preview of what would be transmitted, and transmitted content is not retained after the response. On-device AI features transmit nothing.
9. Sharing, processors, overseas transfer
Because the app collects no personal information, there is no sharing and no processor. If you opt into diagnostics, that data may be transferred to a crash-reporting provider's overseas servers; the recipient and the items are named on the consent screen.
10. Deletion
On-device data is removed when you clear the recent documents list or uninstall the app. The team holds no copy.
11. Your rights
The team stores no personal information, so there is no team-held record subject to access, correction or deletion. Diagnostics consent can be withdrawn in settings at any time.
12. Children
The app collects no personal information from any user, including children under 14.
13. Trademark notice
This app is independent software with no affiliation with, sponsorship from or approval by Hancom Inc. “Hangul”, “Hancom”, “HWP” and “HWPX” are registered trademarks of Hancom Inc.
14. Changes
When this privacy policy changes, we post the change and its effective date on this page and in the app. Changes unfavourable to users are announced at least 30 days before they take effect.
15. Contact
For questions about privacy, email h1.soft.x001@gmail.com. We reply within 7 business days.
