Ongle Terms of Service

1. Purpose

These terms govern use of the Ongle app ("the service") provided by H1Soft ("the team").

2. Effect

These terms take effect when you install or use the service. If you do not agree, do not use the service; uninstalling the app ends your use of it.

3. What the service does

The service opens hwp and hwpx documents with their original layout, searches the whole document, navigates by outline and thumbnails, exports tables to Excel or CSV, converts to PDF or image, and reads in dark mode. All processing happens on your device.

4. Fees

Pricing and any paid features are as stated in the store listing and in the app. If we introduce paid features or change pricing, we will announce it in these terms and in the app before it takes effect.

5. Accounts

The service requires no sign-up and no login. There is therefore no suspension or account-closure process; you end your use by uninstalling the app.

6. Your obligations

You must not:

• use the service to break the law or infringe the rights of others
• reverse engineer, decompile or modify the service, or build derivative works from it
• redistribute, sell or rent the service or any part of it without the team's consent

7. Rendering accuracy

Ongle reproduces documents from public format specifications and an open source engine, and does not guarantee output identical to the original editor. Documents with complex tables, equations or embedded objects — and password- or DRM-protected distribution documents — may fail to open or look different.

For submissions, contracts and anything else where accuracy matters, always confirm in the original editor.

8. Responsibility for your data

Service data lives only on your device, so it cannot be recovered if the device is lost or reset or the app is removed. The team keeps no backup and offers no recovery. Export anything important and store it yourself.

9. Intellectual property

Rights in the service and its components — source code, design, trademarks and icons — belong to the team or its rightful owners. Whatever you create or scan with the service is yours; the team claims no rights in it.

10. Open source notice

The service includes open source software. Full licence texts and copyright notices are available in the app under "Open source licences".

11. Trademark and non-affiliation

This service is independent software with no affiliation with, sponsorship from or approval by Hancom Inc. “Hangul”, “Hancom”, “HWP” and “HWPX” are registered trademarks of Hancom Inc., and the service uses those marks descriptively, to name the document formats it opens. No Hancom logo or lookalike branding is used.

12. Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" with no warranty of fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the team is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the service. This does not limit liability for the team's wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

13. Changes to the service

The team may change or discontinue the service. If the service is discontinued, we will give at least 30 days' notice in the app and in the store listing.

14. Changes

When this terms changes, we post the change and its effective date on this page and in the app. Changes unfavourable to users are announced at least 30 days before they take effect.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes fall under the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act as the court of first instance.
